GREY COUNTY COUNCIL.

A special meeting of the members of the Grey Connty Council was held on Tuesday evening at their offices, Greymonth, at seven o’clock ; present—Crs. Wa-ren (chairman), Foley, Marshall, Kyall, M'Kechnic, Parfitl, and Clifford.

The Council resumed ,at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, the 'Council' having re« .solved itself into Committee of Finance) (lurins; which all the accounts against the Council since its last meeting were considered and passed for. payment* The report of the- Finance Committee was then read and adopted.. TEREMAKAU SETTLEMENT TRACK. The report stated the probable cost of making a track to enable the settlers to get in and oat. Or, Foley strongly supported the making of the track by the Council. The settlers had a quantity of produce that they could not bring out to market. According to Mr ’ MaloneyV statement if the track was repaired and a drain cut, he would give a guarantee that be would claim no farther compensation from the Council. After some further discussion, it was resolved that the work should be done conditional on the execution of Mr Maloney’s guarantee, and the vote of £SOO promised by the Government.
