CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the Charitable Aid Board was held at Hokitika on Tuesday moruing; present —The Chairman (Mr Michel), Messrs Grimroond, Burger, and Jack. The Chairman explained the trouble he had had with Dr. M'Leod, and said that the result of the legal proceedings was a saving of £l3. A letter was received from Dr. Watson, enclosing a letter from the Union Steamship Company, explaining the cause of his non-arrival at Ross. Outststanding accouuts from the Kumara Benevolent Trustees for £26 and a new account for £6 10s were passed for payment. A letter from Mr Wylde, Secretary of the Kumara Hospital. Trustees, applying for payment of first quarter of grant, amounting to £BB 15s, whs received, and the amount passed for payment. On the motion of Mr Jack, it was resolved to write a letter to the auditors of the Kumara Hospital Board of Trustees, expressing the Board's astonishment at not having received their report. The motion was seconded by the Chairman, and carried. Accounts amounting to £7O were passed for payment.
