THE COLLINGWOOD MURDER.
Melbourne, June 22. The inquest touching the death of James Lane, produce dealer, Collingwood, has concluded. Not a particle of evidence, even of suspicion, against any person was produced. The murder was committed about 9 p.m. as deceased had shut his shop and was leaving by the side door. It was thought, at first, that the fact that a woman had been seen sitting in the shop about half-past nine might afford a clue, but this was proved to be a servant girl from a neighbouring hotel, who was ascertained to have stayed in Ids shop -vhiUt he had a drink with a frond. The Coroner, in summing up, said the jury would have no difficulty in deciding that the deceased had been wilfully murdered h>' feme poison or pevsona upkn.n-.vn.
