[REUTERS TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright FRANCE and the NEW HEBRIDES. (Received June 17, 1 p.m.) Melbourne, June 17. The Premier, Mr Gillies, has telegraphed to the Agent-General, requesting him to inquire into the meaning of the recent proceedings of the French war ship Dives in the New Hebrides, in face of the assurances given by the French Government in regard to the neutrality of those islands.
