[REUTERS TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph.—Copyiugut *-•-•-- THE NEW HEBRIDES QUESTION. KIMBERLEY GOLDFIELDS. WANT-OF-CONFIDENCE MOTION IN NEW SOUTH WALES TREASURER'S PROPOSAL. (Received May 12, 1.20 p.m.) Melbourne, May 12. The letter addressed by the Hon. R. Stout to the Presbyterian Assembly has been published in the Victorian papers. Mr Gillies, referring to it, states he is confident that the Presbytery will never consent to the cession of the New Hebrides to France. Parties are being organised to proceed as far as Cambridge Gulf in the •steamer Gambier, which leaves Sydney on the 18th inst. Sailed, the steamship Manapouri, for the Bluff, this afternoon. (Received May 13, 1 a.m.) Adelaide, May 12. Arrived, this morning, the steamship Orient, with English mails to 9th April. Sydney, May 12. Messrs Howard Smith's steamer Gambier will leave for Cambridge Gulf on the 25th inst., and uot ou the 18th, as previously intimated. (Received May 13, noon.) May 13. Sir Henry Parkes' motion of want of confidence in the Treasurer's Budget proposals came on for discussion in the Legislative Assembly last night, and was ultimately rejected by 66 votes to 22, although most of the speeches iu the evening indicated disapproval of the main portion of the Budget.
