said it would be uuneeessirv to read the annual report and balance sheet, as they had been read at the previous meeting of householders. He would at once take nomination.- for a new committee. After the appointment of Messrs John White, Reuben Toms, J. Jorgensen and Thos. Martin as scrutineers, who c n untcd the number of householders present and declared there were 134, nominations were taken, as follow : G. Voysey, proposed by Mr Gibbons and seconded by Mr W. Frasor. A. 0. Cmipbell, by Messrs Hope and Mansfield. H. Burner, by Messrs Henne and Ma'oney. Pt. J. Sethim, by Messrs Palmer and Watson. F. Barrowman, by Messrs Mansfield and Peters. H. Monro, by Messrs Cunningham and Pascoe. Mr W. S. Hanna, by Messrs Barrett and Hayiiies. J. Jamieson, by Messrs M'Gregor and M'Masters. F. A. Olden, by Messrs Bell and B:rry. Voting papers were then handed by the scrutineers to the householders, and after being filled in it was found 131 persons had voted formally, and 3 informally, with the following result, a.s given by the scrutineers:— Votes. Seel don 156 Campbell ... ... 155 Barrowman ... ... 117 Hanna 1U Jamieson ... ... 87 Voysey ... ... 85 Munro ... ... 82 Burger ... ... 79 Olden -13 91S The Chairman then declared the first seven elected to be the Kumara School Committee for the ensuing year, viz., Messrs Seddon, Campbell. P. Hannivman, Hanna, Jamieson, Voysey, and Munro : and thar the first meeting of the committee won; 1 take nlace on Monday evening the lOt'h inst. One of these contained seven name.-'; without the number of votes h?ins appended : another contained the proper number of votes but with some words added irrelevant to the election.
