At ten o'clock to-night Scott had accomplished 185 miles to Edwards 182. In the Legislative Assembly the debate on Sir Henry Parkes' motion in regard to the New Hebrides question is proceeding. At present it is impossible to say in which direction the division will tend. Melboukne, April 13. The Manager of the National Mortgage Agency of New Zealand, Limited, reports as follows : " Shipping wheat is decidedly firmer, 4s 4d to 4s 5d per bushel ; in malting barley, the demand is slackened and prices reduced to 4s to 5s ; New Zealand oats, feed sorts, quiet, at 2s lOd to 3s ; milling descriptions are in steady, though not active, demand, at 3s Id to 3s 9d ; New Zealand oats, under bond. 2s 2d to 2s 5d."
