Arrived, the steamship Mariposa, with the inward ’Frisco mail, this afternoon. The debate on Sir Henry Parkes* motion with regard to the New Hebrides commenced in the Legislative Assembly to-day. It is expected the division will be takeu to-morrow night. (Received April 9, 1.40 p.m.) Melbourne, April 9. Excellent accounts are to hand from the Kimberley goldfield in Western Australia. The miners predict a big rush. The intending prospectors, however, urged to take six months’ provisions, as supplies are scarce, and the field is very extensive. Arrived, the steamship Tarawera, from the Bluff, yesterday morning.
