(Received April 6, 10 p.m.) Brisbane, April 6, Evening. Holt, late Manager of the Sydney Branch of the Bank of New Zealand, was brought before the Police Magistrate to-day, and formally remanded to Sydney.

(Received April 7, 1.30 a.m.) Sydney, April 6. In the Legislative Assembly to-day Sir Henry Parkes withdrew the motion in reference to New Hebrides standing in his name, in order to allow the Colonial Treasurer to bring down his Budget.

Sir P. Jennings accordingly made his financial statement, showing a deficiency for the year of £1,703,000. He proposed to increase the Customs tariff, and include imported barley and butter, also to double the present duty on hops 5 per cent.; an advalornm duty also to be levied on a number of articles now admitted free; a land tax of one half-penny in the £ on unimproved value; he projected and proposed to levy an income-tax of fourpence in the £ on all incomes over £3OO per annum. April 7. _ The Colonial Treasurer, in his Financial Statement last night, estimates the revenue of the coming year at £5, 340,000, and the expenditure at £8,570,000, the latter being a reduction of £540,000 on the previous estimates. A proposal is made to extend exemption of the limit from the income tax to £2OOO a year, but its consideration is adjourned till Tuesday next. " (Received April 7, I.SO a.m.) A least, April 6. The local manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Limited, reports as follows : Shipping wheat, 4s 4d per bushel, with a rather 6rm tendency; malting barley, steady at 3s 6d to 4s 3d; New Zealand feed oats, quiet, nt 2s lOd to 2s lid; milling sorts, steady at 3s Id to 3s 3d ; New Zealand oats, under bond, 2s 5d to 2s 6d per bushel. Sailed, this afternoon, the Ringarooma for the Bluff.

Adelaide, April 7. The early construction of the South Australian Ministry is expected, owing to personal resolutions. It is expected Messrs Spence and Bray will probably retire.
