The Government having decided to bring in a measure to confirm the agreement arrived at by the Berne convention regarding the law of copyright, have invited the Agents-General to discuss the measure on Tuesday. The bill will greatly improve the position of colonial authors. March 26. The Countess de Chambord, widow of the Count de Chambord, is dead. She was the last of the elder branch of the Bourbon family, and was aged sixty-nine years. Mr George Pleydell has be.en ap. pointed sole liquidator in connection with the affairs of the Commercial Bank of South Australia, and petitions presented for winding up the Bank have been postponed until June next.
In the Reichstag Piince Bismarck referred ominously to the present attitude of France towards Germany. The Payment of Members Bill, introdncfd in the House of Commons by Mr Howard Spencely, M.P., proposes to pay members an honorarium of £3OO, the money to be paid from the rates.
Sir William John Clarke, of Victoria, has forwarded to the Lord Mayor of Loudon a cheque for £250, for the relief of the unemployed in London.

It is expected that Messrs Chamberlain and Trevelyan will withdraw their resignations next week. The colliery riots io Belgium are wide-spread, and great havoc to property has been the result. Sanguinary conflicts have also taken place, and many persons hare been wounded. It is reported that Russia has occupied Port Lazaroff.
