ENGLAND AND BURMAH.

The London correspondent of the Sydney Town and Country writes: “ The conquest of Burmah will not he completely effected so easily as was expected, aerl there will he some hard lighting there yet. “Dacoitism” j s not the only enemy we have to contend with : a Bruce, or pretender of the royal family, has set up his standard and is rallying thousands of the hillmen to his side. The Shaus, the most pugnacious of Burmese tribes, have espoused his cause, and have commenced to show fight. These poor fellows have, of course, no idea of the teal power of England, anil nothing but actual defeat in battle will convince them of the utter boplessness of their cause. Still one cannot help sympathising with these poor devils,' who look upon ns as usurpers, and are willing to shed their blood at the shrine of patihtism.”
