The adjourned case against Richard and Walter Belt, charged with conspiracy to defraud Sir William Neville Abdy of a sum of £SOOO was coneluded to-day. Richard Belt was sentanced to a year’s imprisonment with hard labour, Walter Belt being acquitted. (Received March 17, 1.10 a.m.) D, is understood that Mr Chamberlain dissents from tbe Irish policy formulated by Mr Gladstone, and he is expected to resign in consequence. (Received March 17, 1 p.m.) The Right Hon. Joseph Chamberlain, President of the Local Government Board, and the Right Hon. G. O. Trevelyan, Secretary for Scotland, have tendered their resignations. (Received March 17, 1.10 a.m.) In the House of Commons last night, Mr Osborne Morgan, Under-Secretary for the Colonies, replying to a question from Sir A. M‘Arthur, stated that no decision would be come to with regard to the separation of Queensland until the receipt of a memorial from the colonies on the subject. Constantinople, March 16. Prince Alexander of Bulgaria now demands to be appointed Governor of Roumelia for his lifetime, instead of for a term of years only, as provided by the agreement with the Porte.
