BOARD OF EDUCATION.
A special meeting of the Education board was held at Hokitika yesterday afternoon, at three o'clock, to receive and consider the report of the Inspector ot Schools for the year 1885 There were present Messrs Jack, R ae Mueller, and the Chairman. The Inspector's report was read. On the motion of the Chairman seconded by Mr Jack, it was resolved that the Inspector's report be received. The recommendations of the Inspector respecting the teaching of history i„ certain cases, the B upp:y of drawing models and copies, the bonus to teachers, the instruction of first-class pupil teachers, and the date for commencing future examinations, were subjects which are to be separately discussed at the next general meeting. The further consideration of the Inspector's report, and of the question of punting the same was postponed to the next general meeting, on 9th March. The Board then adjourned.
