Nominations for the general elections were lodged to day. Eleven members are elected unopposed, comprising three Ministers.—Messrs Dow, Wrixoti, and Durham. Three others are declared supporters of the Gillies Ministry, and throe belong to the Opposition party, including in their number Messrs Bent and MMntyre. Of the remaining two members, one is Independent, while the other has not declared which party he will support.
