Observer.—The planets Mars and Jupiter, which are such conspicuous objects on the eastern horizon between 10 and 11 o'clock at night, rising at about the same hour, will gradually approach the one the other till on the 27th of June next they will be in conjunction, i.e., they will have the same longitude or right ascension. They will then be apparently less than a degree from each other. Mars will be in opposition to the sun on the Gth of next month, Jupiter on the 21st. They will appear earlier and earlier each night, till on the days mentioned, they will rise as the sun sets, at 6.31 and 6.7 p.m. respectively.
