[united press association.l Wellington, Jaunary 12. The Governor will nob arrive here before Thursday morning, when he will pay a visit to Admiral Tryon on board H.M.S. Nelson. The proprietors of the Evening Post have sent to the Secretary of the Stratford Relief Fund a draft for £IOO, which is the rirat instalment on amount collected. At the R.M. Court this afternoon, Frank M'Dowell was charged with having, at Blenheim, stolen and converted to his own use certain lots of clothing and drapery of a total value of £676, the properly of James M'Dowell. He was further charged with having, between the sth and 17th of last November, embezzled a large amount of money belonging to Jas. M'Dowell, by whom he was then employed. After prosecutor's evidence had been taken the case was adjourned until tomorrow. Timaru, January 12.

Mosley, the wife petitioned, and after hearing witnesses to prove adultery aud cruelty on respondent's part, Judge Johnston granted a decree nisi.

Similar decrees were "ranted in Moss v. Moss, in which the husband" petitioned, and Dutton v. Dutton in which the wife proved two years' desertion by her husband, coupled with adultery.
