CHILDREN’S PICNIC.
A meeting of the Chidrens New Year Picnic Committee was held in the Town Hall last evening; present—Mr B, J. Seddon (in the chair), Messrs Voysey, Campbell, R. B. Wylde and Rudkin (Hon. Sec). The sub-committee appointed to interview Messrs Keech and Malloy reported that those gentlemen had kindly consented to give the use ot their paddock, as usual. It was resolved that the entertainment in aid of the fund consist of a concert, concluding with a farce. " The Secretary was instructed to communicate with such lady and gentlemen amateurs as would be likely to take part in the concert and farce, and prepare a programme of the same. Tenders are to be invited for liquor and fruit stalls, &c,, same as last year. The various bakers are to be asked to give a price for the supply of tarts and buns. Messrs Seddon, Voysey, and Rudkin were authorised to canvass for contributions. . The Chairman, his Worship the Mayor, Messrs Voysey, Palmer, Jamieson, Burrell, Campbell, Wylde, and Rudkin were appointed an executive committee for general purposes. Messrs Draper, Johnson, Levatt, Howe, Hewitt, Stevenson, Burrell, Voysey, Laugd ridge, Brayshaw, Newman, and Hannah were appointed a Works Committee. The meeting then adjourned to Wednesday night, at 8 o’clock.
