A disastrous fire occurred at Plymouth last night. Thirteen persons lost their lives, the victims being mostly children. The telegrams of yesterday's date from the Balkan Peninsula, referring to fighting which was alleged to have taken place at Velikizvor are now stated to be devoid of truth. Latest advices report that at present hostilities have ceased. (Received December 15, 1.15 p.m.) Evening. Arrived, the P. and 0. steamship Clyde, from Australia. (Received December 15, 1.5 a.m.) . Capetown, December 13. It is expected that the necessary repairs to the propeller of the Kaikoura will be completed and the vessel enabled to proceed on her voyage today. (Received December 15, 1.15 p.m.) Madras, December 14. King Thebaw arrived here from Rangoon to-day, a prisoner. Constantinople, December 14. The Sublime Porte has despatched an Envoy to Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, in order to confer with Prince Alexander on the piesent situation. Rio de Janiero, December 14. The steamship lonic, from Lyttelton, November 11, left here last night for London. Her frozen meat cargo is in good condition.
