SCHOOL COMMITTEE

The monthly meeting of the School Committee was held in tne Town Hall on Monday evening; present —Mr Seddon (Chairman), Messrs P. Barrowman, Jamieson, Williamson, Voysey, and Campbell (Hon. Sec). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The inward correspondence was read and received. The sub-committee were authorised to get the work required at the Kumara School done by day labour. The School Inspector's returns of the Kumara State School examination were received, and were handed to the Editor of the local paper for publication. An abstract will be found below. A resolution was passed that the thanks of the Committee be accorded to Mr Woodward and the staff of teachers of the Kumara State School for the very satisfactory efficiency of the scholars, as shown by the returns, notwithstanding the disadvantages they have had to contend with during the year. The passing of a small account concluded the business of the meeting.
