EXPEDITION TO SEARCH FOR THE EXPLORING EXPEDITION OF THE GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY OF NEW SOUTH WALES. STEAMSHIP MOVEMENTS. (Received November 17, 10.30 p.m.) Sydney, November 17. Tbe New Soutb Wales Parliament, assembled today. The newly-elected members of tbe Legislative Assembly having been sworn in by the Speaker, the Bon. Edmund Barton, the House adjourned. The Opposition members are in a majority, but the course of action they will adopt has not transpired. Sir Henry Parkes took the opportunity this afterooon to renounce his claims to the premiership. An expedition, fully armed and equipped, will shortly start from Thursday Island for New Guinea to prosecute a diligent search for the Geographical Society's 'Expedition. The Union Company's steamship Tekapo sailed this afternoon for Wellington. Melbourne, November 17. Sailed, this afternoon, the steamship Bauroto, for the Bluff.
