ROBIN HOOD COMPANY'S CONSULTATION.

__ +. The final event in connection with the Robin Hood Company took pjace on Friday last, when the consultation on tbe Melbourne Cup, the New Zealand and Canterbury Cups, were drawn. The Press reports:—There were 36,375 shares taken up out of the total amount offered. A committee of the subscribers was appointed to conduct the drawing, which, considering the very laroe number of ballots to be manipulated so many times over as each race was drawn separately, and the same course had to be adopted with regard to the various series of cash bonds, entailed a considerable amount of labor upon the gentlemen composing the Committee. However, the longest dachas an ending, and ultimately all tbe numbeis on the mammoth programme were successfully placed, and the lucky winners in prospective ascertained. The following resolution was unanimously carried at the adjournment for refection: —"The subscribers present at the final drawing of the vseries of consultations, projected and carried out so satisfactorily by the Robin Hood Company, desire to testify their high appreciation of the admirable manner in which the drawings have always been conducted. They especially wish to record this on the present occasion, it being on ihe large.-.t scale ever attempted in the colonies. From first

to last the drawings h iv« been conducted in a manner calculated to inspire the greatest confidence in the promoters, and without the slightest mistake or hitch."
