(Received September 30, 10.40 p.m. Melbourne, September 30. The Mauapouri sailed for the Bluff this afternoon. Joseph Syrnes, the well-known Free Thought publisher, was brought before the Magistrate to-day on a charge of publishing an article of a blasphemous nature in his newspaper " The Liberator ;" and, after examination was committed for trial. (Received October 1, 1.15 p.m.) October 1. The Victorian quarterly returns give the revenue for the past three months at £1,450,000, being a decrease on the corresponding period of last year of of £24,000. The principal falling uff was in excise, land sales, and territorial revenue. Adelaide, October 1. The revenue for the past quarter is £431,000, being an increase of £21,000 over the same period last year.
