[united press ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, September 14. Young Morrison's hurt is not so serious as at first stated, and he is doing well. A terrible dynamite accident occurred on Saturday morning at Skippers, resulting in the death of John Tripp and Cornelius Nolan. They were warming dynamite at a fire in their chimney, when au explsion occurred. Nolan was blown through the roof of the hut, and Tripp was frightfully mutilated and died two hours after the explosion. Both of the men were unmarried, and were working a claim on their own account. Auckland, September 14. The diorama of the Soudan war was sold by auction to-day at the instance of the local bill poster, and realised £3O. Burglars entered the ironmongery warehouse of Messrs Morrin and Co. ou Saturday or Sunday night last. They burst open the cash box and stole £5. No arrests have as yet been made. Gerald Massey gave his concluding lecture last night, and leaves by the San Francisco mail steamer to-morrow. Wellington, September 14. The Zealandia, with the August English mail, left San Francisco for Auckland on the 19th ult., time table date. The City of Sydney with the August Colonial mails arrived at San Francisco, from Auckland, on the 7th inst., a day earlier than the time table date. Christchurch, September 14. Mr H. J. Mathias, Chairman of the County Council, died of brain fever, he arrived h"re in 1851.
