[united press ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, August 19. The divorce case, Watson v. Watson and Gillespie, co-respondent, was heard to-day, in which John Watson asked for a dissolution of marriage on the ground of his wife's adultery with corespondent. Petitioner is a shepherd near Oamaru, and Gillespie was working with him, but being suspected, he was discharged. Some time after Mrs Watson left her home and was living in an hotel at Lyttelton with co-i’espon-dent. A decree was granted. A libel case in which .£SO damages was sought, was before the Supreme Court. James E. S. Onsley was a member of an 1.0.G.T. Lodge, of which T. G. Dynon was secretary; plaintiff was expelled from the Order and the announcement advertised, for which he claimed damages. In giving judgment for £lO, the Judge said plaintiff bad not been expelled from the Order, the proceedings not having been conducted in the regular way, and the advertisement was libelous. Feilding, August 19. Last night Joseph May hew, cordial manufacturer, was thrown from his horse on the Awhura road and killed. His neck was broken. Wellington, August 18. As the 7,55 train from Upper Hutt was leaving that station yesterday morning, a Mrs Nichols threw a boy about tire years of age on to the line, in front of the approaching train. Her husband, working close by, saw her throw the child on the line, and ran across and succeeded in rescuing it, when the engine was within a few yards of him. No motive is assigned for the act.
