THE FAUST FAMILY.
This wonderful family, ten in number, of male and female artistes are to make their appearance at the Theatre Royal on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the next week. They are renowned as acrobats, gymnasts, •« risley, and musicians. This family has performed at the Royal Alhambra, Aquarium, and all the principal places of amusement in London, and every city of importance in England, Ireland, and Scotland, also with great success at the Grand Hippodrome, Paris, also at Marseilles, Lyons, and other large towns in France, Berlin, and all other cities in Germany, Bavaria, Austria, Italy Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and the Northern States of America. Tins family joined Chiarini's Circus at Point de Galle, Ceylon, 23rd October, 1882, which met with great success in India, China, and the Phillipine Islands Here the family took a well-deserved rest, and visited their native place, London, afterwards rejoining Chiarini, at Sydney, ou 28th January, 1884, where they have gained the reputation ofbein* the best performers in their special that have ever visited Australia or New Zealand. The father of this family commenced his profession at the early age of seven, and is still performing with the activity of a young and robust man. From the Faust pere, the eldest son, the accomplished and beautiful daughter, Louise, down to the petite baby girl just able to toddle, it would be a difficult task to over-estimate the merit of the Faust performances. They are decidedly unique of the kind, and, it is said, beyond comparison the best exhibitors of gymnastic skill and dexterity yet seen. No one who has witnessed their marvellous risley and violin performances, or their grand display of classical statuary, will deny their title to rank among the most-highly accomplished of gymnastic artistes.
