The examination of the Simpson’s Road bank robbers was concluded yesterday, when the prisoners were all committed for trial at the July criminal sessions, bail being refused. A syndicate of shares, all of which are fully subscribed, has been formed for the purpose of equipping and despatching an expedition to New Guinea in search of gold, of which several excellent specimens were brought from the island by Mr Kelly of the recent “Age” New Guinea expedition.
