KUMARA HOSPITAL.

♦ The ordinary fortnightly meeting of the Hospital Committee was held in the Town Hall last evening; present Messrs Rudkin (in the chair), Burger, Ziegler, Hope, Wooldridge, Wildridge, and J. Haanah. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The outward correspondence was read and approved of. The Secretary reported havinw received the policy of insurance on the Hospital buildings and furniture, and he was instructed to lodge it in the Bank of New South Wales for safe keeping. Mr Ziegler (for the House Comtint tee) reported that Dr. Davy had been installed in his duties at the Hospital. The Secretary was instructed to draw up an agreement as between Dr. Davy and the Committee, and submit the same to next meeting. The House Committee were empowered to procure timber for constructing a fowl.bouse at the Hospital. The Secretary was instructed to write to Mr Rooney, requesting him to pay for his daughter's maintenance (30s per week) in advance, or take her from the Hospital. It was resolved to call a meeting of the Bye-law Committee for Tuesday, the 23rd inst., at 8 p.m.; and that the names of Messrs Rudkin and Wooldridge be added to the said committee, in place of Messrs Nicholson and Metcalfe. Messrs Rudkiu and Wylde (Secretary) were requested to canvass the town for annual subscriptions. . Mr John Hannah was elected on the House Committee, vice Mr Ziegler, who retires by rotation. The consideration of Carlstrom's case was held over till next meeting Tenders for supplies were then opened ami <le ilf- with as follow : Milk.—Messrs C. Curtain and J. White tendered at 41 per quirt. Mr Curtain's tender was accepted. Firewood—Mr A. P. Vansitler tea-

dered at £1 8s 6d per cord; Mr Joseph Kobertson at £1 7s 6d. Mr Robertson's.tender was accepted, subject to his agreeing to stack it, failing which the first-mentioned tender is to be accepted. Bread.—Messrs,Keech and Malloy and W. Kroener tendered at 6d the 41b. loaf. Mr Kroener's tender was accepted. Meat.—Messrs P. Foley and Keech and Malloy tendered at 4d per lb.; Mr M. Murphy, at 3£d per lb. Mr Murphy's tender was accepted. Eggs, Butter, and Potatoes.—Mr W. J. M'Uroy tendered as follows : Eggs, Is 9d per dozen; butter, Is 7d per lb,; potatoes, 9a per cwt. Mr Drummond tendered as follows: —Eggs, 2s per dozen ; butter, Is 6d per lb. ; potatoes, 7s 6d per cwt. Mr Drammond's tender was accepted. Provisions and Groceries.—Tenders | were received from Messrs W. J. M'Uroy and J. Drummond. Mr i M'llroy's tender, being in the aggregate the lowest, was accepted. Receipts were handed in as follow : By Mr J. Hannah, £6; by Mr H. Hope, £2 10s. This concluded the business.
