Dr. Webber, Bishop of Brisbane, was consecrated to-day at the Cathedral by the Bishop of Canterbury, assisted by a large number of the prominent clergy. The ceremony was witnessed by a large congregation. (Received June 15, 0.45 a.m.) Night. The Marquis of Salisbury has been summoned to Balmoral by her Majesty the Queen. It is announced that her Majesty the Queeu has been pleased to accept the resignation of Mr Gladstone and his colleagues, and that Lord Salisbury, who is at present at Balmoral, has been summoned to undertake the formation of a new Ministry. (Received June 13, 1.45 p.m.) Paris, June 12. News is to hand from Thiers, a town in the department of Puy-de-Dome, of a shocking accident which occurred there to-day. A large number of people were assembled in the local Court House, when the staircase of the building suddenly collapsed, precipitating the occupants to the ground. Fully 200 persons have been killed or seriously injured by the disaster. Madrid, June 12. Reports from the .south of S|.=.in show that the cholera is increasing in virulence, aud has already extended over a considerable area.
