[UNITED PEERS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, May 19. A divorce suit in which heavy damages are claimed, has been commenced by Mr William Fordhara, a clerk in the employ of W. and J. Staples, brewers. Petitioner prays for a dissolution of his marriage with Elizabeth Fordham, on the ground of her adultery with Mr William Boyd, acting manager of the Wellington Trust and Loan Investment Company. Damages to the amount of £2OOO are claimed against the co-respoudent. The case will be heard some time in July. An inquest was held on the body of Timothy Doile, victim of the boat accident. The verdict was "found dead." Deceased had a brother in Napier and a sister in Christchurch. Auckland, May 19. Selby Callag dropped dead in the Harbour Board office. Papers on the body show that he hns relatives at Taranrki, and three children in St. Mary's Orphanage, Nelson. John Ryers, jeweller, was arrested on a charge of breaking and entering the premises of Hart and Co., pawnbrokers, in June, 1884, stealing therefrom jewellery, &c, of the value of £125. The discovery was made in a singular manner. The s.s. Tarawera for Sydney took Lieutenant Stapleton, Gunner Elliott, and a detachment of seamen of H.M.S. Nelson, engaged here lately laying submarine mines.
