GILBERT STEWART'S HOTEL.

[to the editor.] Sir—Practical jokes emanate either from a light head or a malicious mind ; and I am inclined to think that your informant re Stewart's Hotel changing hands belongs to the latter class Allow me to give an unqualified denial of the statement in your local, and beg of you in any future rumors in which my name my be mentioned that you will ascertain from me the truth or falsehood of the same before inserting it in your paper. Mrs Stewart has chosen me to superintend her business, which I purpose doing to the best of my ability, which will result, I hope (with the kind assistance of the public), beneficially to her and her family. George F. Orams. May 20, 1885.
