VALIDATING RATE MADE BY BOROUGH OF KUMARA, Wm. F. Drumjiond Jervois, Order in Council. At the Government House at Wellington, this Fifth day of May, 1885. ' Present: His Exceleency the Governor in Council. WHEREAS on or about the twentyfirst day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, the Council of the Borough of Kutnara made a general late in respect of property within the said borough, and prior to the making of such rate caused estimates to be prepared in terms of section one hundred and nine of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876 " (herein termed " the said Act"): And whereas it appears that such estimates, although advertised as open for inspection, were not publicly notified as by the said Act required, and by reason thereof doubts have arisen as to the validity of such rate, and it appears expedient to remove such doubts and to make the order hereinafter set forth : Now, therefore, his Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested in him by the said Act and " The Rating Act, 1876," and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the said rate of the twenty-first day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, so made as aforesaid, shall be valid and effectual, notwithstanding the omission to publicly notify the said estimates as aforesaid.
