It is currently reported that an agreement has been arrived at between the English and Italian Governments by which the latter couutry agrees to occupy Soudan in the event of the British troops in that locality being drafted to India. April 14. The Daily News states that the troops comprising the various Camel Corps now serving in Egypt will be recalled to England forthwith. [Per Reuter's Special Correspondent.] (Received April 14, 9.30 p.m.) Suakin, April 13, Evening. General Graham reviewed the New South Wales Artillery this afternoon. Addressing the force he complimented the men upon their soldierly appearance. A difficulty has arisen concerning the submission of rebel Arabs, in accordance with the proclamation issued last week by Sir Gerald Graham. The Sheikhs demand for their tribes a guarantee that they shall not suffer on account of past actions. But General Graham, on behalf of the authorities, is not prepared to give any pledges. THE COLONIES AND THE FEDERATION LEAGUE. At a meeting of the Imperial Federation League held on Febuary 24, the following resolution was proposed by Mr. Forster, M.P.:—" That the -league hails with the deepest gratification the loyal and patriotic offers of military assistance made by the Dominion of Canada and the great colonies of New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, and South Australia, to Her Majesty's Government; and recognizes therein a remarkable example of that common action for common ends which it is the object of the League to promote throughout the Empire." The resolution was passed unanimously.
