In consequence of the Chinese being employed in working aboard the Pacific Mail Company's steamship Zealandia, the Seamen's Union have withdrawn their crew from that vessel. (Received April 14, 1.30 p.m.) The dispute between the Seameu's Union and the Pactfic Mail Company still continues. The Zealandia regular crew having been withdrawn, the company put on a gang of labourers to discharge the ship; but they also have been induced to leave work. (Received April 13, 10.30 p.m.) Melbourne, April 13. Intelligence to hand from Geelong announces the arrest of Mrs Beech and Frank Haworth, charged with the murder of Francis Beech, farmer, of Pettavel, a few miles from Geelong, on the 20th Jauuary. The female prisoner is the widow of the murdered man, and Haworth was employed as a butcher on the premises. (Received April 14, 2 a.m.) The Hon. Mr Service has given an official denial to the statement that the Rotomahana has been purchased as a patrol vessel for the Australian station.
