TO CORRESPONDENTS.

The fastest 100 yards on record is that of George Seward, an American, 9J sees., in England. F. Hewitt ran J. G. Harris 100 yards in 9| sees., in Australia. This is, we believe, the second best time on record.—For half a mile, F. Hewitt's, in New Zealand, in lm. 53|secs., is the best record. The ordinary time of the mail steamers between Sydney and Aden is 34 days. Assuming that the Iberia and Australasian transports, with the Sydney Contingent on board, make the same time, they should reach Aden on the 6th April. Suakim is distant from Aden about 720 miles, or fully two more days' steam.
