[REUTER'S TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. CRICKET.-ALL ENGLAND V COMBINED AUSTRALIANS. ' (Received March 22, 10.40 a.m.) Melbourne, March 22. A match between Shaw's English eleven and a team representing cotnlaned Australians was commenced on the Melbourne Club's ground to-day, in the presence of a large number of spectators. The weather was fine, and the ground in first-class order, an excellent wicket being available. The Australian captain won the and sent his men to the wickets first'. The principal scorers were—Bruce' bowled, 15 ; Giffen, bowled, 13 • Jams, caught, 13 ; Spofforth, oO ; Trimble, not out, 34 The Australian team were all disposed of for a total of 164 ruus; and then the Englishmen went to the wickets. Scotto"n and Barnes, the first representatives, made a good stand, and when time was called, the score stood at 44, without the loss of a wicket, Scottou being 31, Barnes 19, not out. The match will be continued on Monday.
