It shows the Nile from below the parallel of El Obeid (the scene of Hicks Pasha’s ill-fated expedition) to its junction with the Mediterranean Sea, thus including all the places of interest made famous by the recent engagements of British troops in their endeavours to rescue the late General Gordon, and relieve Khartoum from the hands and ravages of El Mahdi and his followers. PRICE SIXPENCE, With Paper giving a Table of Distances and Description. Only a limited number of copies are printed.

APPLICATIONS are invited by the Kumara Borough Council from persons competent to fill the offices of TOWN CLERK, Returning Officer, Borough Treasurer, Receiver of Rates and Revenue, Valuer, Health Officer, Building Inspector, and to prepare specifications. Salary, £l5O. Applicants will he required to give an approved bond of £2OO for the faithful discharge of duties in connection with said offices.
