HOSPITAL FETE.

A meeting of the Hospital Fete Committee was held in the Town Hall on Friday evening last; present—His Worship the Mayor (in the chair), Messrs Yoysey, Hope, Hannah, Nicholson, Rudkin and Metcalfe, of the Hospital Committee; Messrs Davies and Palmer, delegates from the Oddfellows’ Society ; Messrs Woods and Stockman, from the Foresters'; and Messrs Wiesner and Bruggernann, from the German Society ; and Mr R. E. Wylde, Secretary.

The Chairman reported that the gross proceeds from the booth in ihe Recreation Ground during the visit of Woodyear’s Circus was L 5 Os fid, which he had handed over to the Secretary, The expenses amounted to L2, and this amount was passed for payment to Mr Pearn, by whom the refreshments were supplied. Mr W. Nicholson was appointed Treasurer to the Fete Committee. _ It was resolved that the fete be similar in character to the one held last year. < The names of Messrs Pearn, Fitzsimons, W. Barnett, Mansfield, also Capt. O’Hagan and Lieut. Borlase (of the Volunteers), and Lieut. Brayshaw (of the Fire Brigade), were added to the Committee. Messrs Pearn, Pitzsimons, Barnett, Mansfield, and G. Wood were appointed to act as a Sports Committee, and draw up a programme of sports for Easter Monday, Messrs Hope, Rudkin, and Davies were authorised to take steps to get up an entertainment to be held on Easter Monday night, and report to next meeting. It was resolved that seven members of committee constitute a quorum. ■ The Committee then adjourned till Thursday evening, at eight o’clock.
