(Received February 20, 12.50 p.m.) Sydney, February 20. The patriotic fund is daily increasing, and the arrangements for the despatcli of troops are progressing favourably. The day of embarkation will be observed as a public holiday and be attended with considerable eclat. The Hon. W. B. Dalley, AttorneyGeneral has replied to 'the Queen's message stating the colonists are deeply grateful for the same.
Melbourne, February 20. The Hon. Mr Service has not yet received an official reply to the offer of Victorian troops for Soudan. Arrived, yesterday morning, the s.s. Manapouri, from the Bluff. Hobart, February 20. A. man has been arrested in connection with the robbery of the Bank of Tasmania, at Beaconsfieid, in July last. A portion of the stolen notes have been found in his possession.
