Dunedin, February 3. Scott and Hancock have been matched to walk twelve hours on the 21st inst. for .£IOO a-side.

Wellington, February 3. A man named Gardner Orland Curtis died suddenly this morning at Castle Point. The cause of death is not known, but an inquest will be held. A. G. Spreat, who recently attempted suicide, was charged with that offence at the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon, and was bound over in a surety of £IOO to keep the peace for three months. At a meeting of the Wellington branch of the Irish National League it was decided to raise contributions towards the payment of Irish members of the House of Commons.
