SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The ordinary meeting of the School Committee was held in the Town Hall on Monday evening; present—The Chairman (R. J. Seddon, Esq.), Messrs F. Barrowman, Campbell (Hon. Sec.), and Yoysey. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The outward correspondence waa read and approved of. Messrs J. M'Whirter and C. Rose were nominated for seats on the Education Board. It was resolved that Messrs Nicholson and Rudkin be asked to audit the accounts; that the Hou. Secretary prepare a balance-sheet for the past year; and that the Chairman and Mr Barrowman draw up the annual report. The Secretary reported having received the sum of £6 4s for the quarter ending 31st December 1884.

Accounts to the amount of £7 10s were passed for payment. The meeting then adjourned till 8 p.m. on Friday next, to receive balancesheet for the past year.
