RESIDENT MAGISTRATES AND WARDENS APPOINTED.
♦ A Gazette notice dated Wellington, 23rd December, 1884, states that his Excellency the has been pleased to appoint— Frank Bird, Esq., R.M., to be Resident Magistrate for the Districts of Nelson and Nelson SouthWest Goldfields, and a Warden for the Nelson South-West Gold Fields Mining District, from the Ist January, 1885, vice W. H. Revell, Esq., R.M., transferred; Jackson Keddell, Esq,, R.M., to be Resident Magistrate for the Districts of Greymouth and Nelson SouthWest Goldfields, and to be a Warden for the Westland and Nelson SouthWest Goldfields Mining Districts, from the Ist January, 1885, vice H. A. Stratford, Esq., transferred; William Horton Revell, Esq., R.M., to be a Resident Magistrate for the Districts of Clntha nnd Otago Gold-: fields, and to be a Warden for the Otago Goldfields Mining District, from the Ist January, 1885; Henry Aldborough Stratford, Esq., R.M., Barrister, to be a Resident Magistrate for the District of Otago Goldfields, and to be a Warden for the Otago Gold Fields Mining District, from the Ist January, 1885; and Duncan Macfaelane Esq., R.M.., to be Warden for the Westland Mining District.
