Five men to run 10 yards, pick up reel ; run 50 yards to engine, connect one suction hose to engine ; turn over, secure, and unlock levers ; lock fore carriage, and run out 100 feet of hose ; fix branch, then fix union and run out 50 feet from each delivery ; fix brandies—one on ground and the other on ladder 20 feet high ; and stand, branch in hand. Quickest time to be the winner. One trial to each team. All couplings to be spanner tight. First prize, £4 ; second, £l, with entrance money added.
