DR, SINCLAIR AGAIN.
At the Resident Magistrate's Court, Milton, on Wednesday, the 12th insfc. (the Otago Daily Times reports), the case of Moffat v. Dr. Sinclair, dentist,
was tried. It was a claim for £26, damages sustained by the plaintiff's wife, through the defendant's malpractice. The evidence showed that ihe defendant attempted to pull five teeth, and four of them were broken off in the jaw. Upon remonstraiing afterwards, Dr. Sinclair said that the teeth were all right, and that Mrs Moffat only felt the jawbone. Ho admitted there was ore stump left, but took no steps to extract it, and ordered Moffat and his wife out of the place. Mrs Moffat had been in bed ever since. Dr. Low, of Kaitangata, gave evidence for the plaintiff that the gums were very much torn and bleeding. Three teeth were broken off to the stumps. There was evidence of unskilful practice. Judgment was given for £l6 6s, and costs £5 17s. Execution, which was applied for, was stayed for three days, to give defendant an opportunity of applying for a re-hearing. A similar case was partly heard in Dnnedin on Wednes- . day, but was adjourned till the 26th inst.
