News from Formosa is to hand showthat the French were completely successful in their operations on that island. Admiral Courbet has secured possession of Kelung, and a strong body of French troops have occupied the town. The Chinese batteries at Tam-sui were captured by Admiral Lespes, and have since been dismantled and rendered ineffective.
