BONUSES ON COLONIAL INDUSTRIES. Colonial Secretary’s Office, Wellington, 2nd February, 1883. NOTICE is hereby given that the following bonuses will be paid on articles produced in the Colony of New Zealand, as under:— SILK. A bonus of fifty per cent, on tbe value realized for the first thousand pounds’ (L 1000) worth of cocoons of the silkworm, or silkworms’ eggs, produced in the colony, to be paid on quantities of not less value than fifty pounds (LSO) nor more than one hundred pounds (LI 00) produced by any one person. MAN GANEISEN AND MANGANESEBRONZE. A bonus of five hundred pounds (L 500) will be given for tbe first tw® thousand five hundred pounds’ worth of manganeisen, and a similar bonus for a like amount of manganeuebronze, produced in the colony from New Zealand ores, and sold at a fair market price in a foreign market. MARBLE. A bonus of three hundred poui idsi (L 300) will be given for the first fifteen hundred pounds’ (L 1500) worth of New Zealand marble exported from Lhe; colony and sold in a foreign market a t a price of not less than 9s. per cu’ohc foot. ANTIMONY. A bonus of five hundred pounds (L 500) will be given for the first 216'0 tons of antimony regulus, produced in the colony from New Zealand ores, aind sold at a fair market price in a foreitgn market. CONDITIONS. 1. Notice of intention to claim any' >of the above bonuses must be given in writing to the Colonial Secretary not later than the 31st December, 18832. The claim must be made before the 30th June, 1884. 3. The first claimant of any bonus who proves to the satisfaction of the Government that he has fulfilled -all the conditions to be the recipient of the bonus. 4. The other conditions as to quantity, priority,quality, and value to be ful)slled to the satisfaction of an officer appointed for the purpose by the GovernmentFurther information and particulars may be obtained by application at the Colonial Secretary’s office. WROU GHT-IRON. A bonus of one thousand pounds JL1000) will be given for the production, in New Zealand, by a direct process of 200 tons of “ iron-blooms,”' <of murketable quality, from ore produced in New Zealand. CONDITIONS. 1. The bonus not to be given for any quantity less than 100 tons. 2. Notice of the intention to erect ironworks and claim the bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary before the 31st December, 1883, 3. The bonus must be claimed before the 31st December, 1884. 4. In the event of more than one claimant giving such notice, not more than seven-tenths of the bonus may be claimed by the. first producer, and not more than three-tenths by tin; second producer; but if only one claimant becomes a producer on the above conditions, he may claim tbe whole of the bonus. 0. The into in respie! of which anv bonus is claimed, and the ore from which it is maunl'aetuied, will be examined by an officer to be appointed by the Government, who may require the production of bona fide account sales of quantities not less than 100 tons weight, showing that such iron has been sold at a fair market price as wrought-iron.
