STATE SCHOOL REQUISITES.
[to the editor,]
Sir Will yon kindly allow me, through your valuable paper, to ask the gentlemen comprising our local School Committee—
' (1.) Why have they not made it public, as is usually the custom, whether the entertainment got up a few weeks ago, for the purpose of providing requisites for the State School, was a success, and to what an extent?
(2.) ff the gentlemen above-mentioned divided the proceeds ? if so, how much came to each of them ?
(3.) Could the said gentlemen not afford to give a small trifle out of their dividends towards the purchase of a little firewood, as the children at school have been without a fire now for some considerable time.
I think, Mr Edito;, if those simple
questions are not satisfactorily answered, it would not be amiss to send a little explanation to Wellington about tbo management, or rather mismanagement, of this grand State School system, A Parent. September 12, 1884;
