[REUTER’S TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. CRICKET. AUSTRALIANS V. I ZINGARI. PROPOSED SCULLING MATCH FOR 6000 DOLLARS. (Received September 7, 10.30 a.m.) London, September 5. The cricket match at Scarborough, Australians v. I Zingari, was resumed to-day. The weather was again cold and inclement, but there was a large attendance of spectators. The Australians, with one wicket down for 24, continued their first innings, which closed for a total of 233, being 4 runs ahead of their opponents. The highest scorers were Giffen, canght, 34; Midwinter, caught, 30; Spofforth, caught, 49. The Zingaris went to the wickets a second time, and when time was called they had lost three wickets for 45 runs, of which number A. G. Steel contributed 20, caught. (Received September 7, 5.45 p.m.) September 6. The cricket match at Scarborough was resumed and concluded to-day, the Australians proving victorious by eight wickets.
The Zingaris in their second innings only succeeded in putting together 140 runs, thus leaving their opponents with 137 to make to win.
The required number were obtained with the loss of only two wickets, and the Australians thus scored another win.
The weather was again inclement, but the attendance of spectators was good. The highest individual scores were as follows ; —Zingari, second innings— Patterson, bowled, 26 ; Studd, bowled, 28; Christopherson, caught, 14. Australians, second innings :—M‘Donnell, caught, 67; Murdoch, not out, 33 : Scott, not out, 15. [SPECIAL TO PRESS ASSOCIATION.] London, September 2. Mr Duryea, an American, has offered a sum of 6000dols. to be rowed for next year by six scullers, including Beach.
