TENDERS EOR INLAND MAIL SERVICES for 1885 and 1886. General Post Office, Wellington, 20th August, 1884. SEALED TENDERS will be received at the several Chief Post Offices in the colony until SATURDAY, the twenty-seventh proximo, for the conveyance of mails between the undermentioned places, for a period of two years from the Ist January, 1885, to the 31st December, 1886. Postal District of Hokitika. 3. Hokitika and Kamara (morning service), delivering Greymouth mails at Kumara Tram Station, daily. 4. Hokitika and Kumara (afternoon service), delivering Greymouth mails at Kumara Tram Station, daily. 5. Hokitika and Ross, via Kanieri, Woodstock, and Rimu, daily. *6. Hokitika and Springfield, via Kumara, Waimea, and Stafford, delivering Greymouth mails at Kumara Tram Station, twice week'y. 7. Kumara and Ditlman’s Town, daily. 8. Kumara and Greenstone, twice weekly. 9. Kumara Post Office and Tram Station, as required. 12. Waimea and Pox’s, twice weekly. for service No. 6 to state the time within which they propose to deliver mails between Hokitika and Springfield, The attention of intending tenderers is directed to the following clause of the terms and conditions of contract printed at the back of the tender forms : “ The days and hours of arrivals and departures of mails will be stated in a time-schedule attached to the bond, but other days and hours may from time to time be fixed by the Postmaster-Gen-eral by notice in writing. For services performed by coach no stage shall exceed twelve miles, except by special permission from the Postmaster-General who shall determine whether or not longer stages are unavoidable.” Contractors whose tenders may be accepted must be prepared to carry out the services for which they tender ac. cording to the time-tables framed '■>J the department. Contractors must, in accordance with the terms and conditions of mail contracts, provide a free box-seat on any vehicle, and a free passage by any steamer or boat, when required, for au officer traveling on the business of the department. Forms of tender, with the terras and conditions of contract, may be procured at any post office. No tender will be considered unless made on the printed form. Construction of Track from Ross borough boundary to the Alpine claim, Mount Greenland. Plans and specifications at County Council Chambers; also for No. I at Mr Seddon’s, Kmnura, and Mr M‘Whliter’s, Goldsborough ; for No. 2, at Mr M‘ Yhirter’s.
