VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE.
The monthly meeting of the Volunteer Fire Brigade was held in the Town Hall on Wednesday evening; present Capt, Burger, Lieut. M‘Ewen, Deputy Anderson, Branchmau Brayshaw, Secretary Close, Treasurer Gerraghty, Firemen Orams, and J. Woods, ForeJ man Surasion, and Deputy Ziegler, The minutes of the previous monthly meeting and practice meetings were approved of.
The Secretary produced a balancesheet for the half-year ending July, 1884. The total income from all sources was £39 4s 3d, and the expenditure amounted to £l9 18s, leaving a balance in the bank of £l9 6s Sci. Messrs Pearson and Rudkin audited the accounts, which were found correct. The balance-sheet was received and adopted.
Fireman Orams was authorised to procure two short ladders.
It was resolved that in future practice take place every Wednesday night. Subscriptions were handed in to the amount of 12s, and this concluded the business of the mealing.
