James Hawthorn, who was sentenced to death for the murder of his brother, William Hawthorn, at Brighton, on the 21st March last, was executed today. (Received August 22, 11.45 a.m.) Sydney, August 22. Arrived, yesterday, the Union steamship Hauroto, from Wo'lington. In the Legislative Connoil last night, after debate, the Crown Lands Bill was read a second time, without a division.
